Featuring Erick Devine |
Santa’s bringing Tulsa a Christmas present from New York! It’s Broadway performer Erick Devine (pictured) starring in a cabaret-style show written by former Tulsan Matt Savage. Devine and Savage are long-time friends of Vern Stefanic, who is directing this funny, campy, laid-back holiday show for Theatre Tulsa.
Devine, who earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Tulsa in 1976, originated the role of General Genghis Kahn Schmitz in Broadway’s Seussical in 2000. Before that, he played the parts of Foreman and J.P. Morgan in Ragtime, portrayed Old Deuteronomy in Cats, and was one of eight performers, including Sid Caesar himself, in a comedy revue titled Sid Caesar &
Local actors Booker Gillespie, Carmen Garrison, Pat Hobbs and Laurel Williamson, who all starred in Savage’s Karaoke: The Brand New Unoriginal Musical last summer, will join Devine onstage. Karaoke was a riotous, broadly played farce with an anything-can-happen edge, so if you’re tired of the same old holiday shows this time of year, this show just may be your bag, baby!
Tickets are $17; $15 for seniors and students. Table seats are $25.
