I’ve always felt like I wanted to go back to the 1920s. That era of flappers, the jazz age, and those under-ground clubs where live music, sequins, champagne, laughter and energetic new dances enveloped you until dawn. I never knew those times. I was born in the wrong era. But I think about my grandparents and great-grandparents hitting the town and enjoying that special time. I wonder if they knew it was special.
In Tulsa, those were the glory days – the oil boom, new buildings popping up everywhere, and the founding of many local businesses and schools. It must have been a great time to be a Tulsan. And for those of us who never knew that time, we are lucky to have our city’s flagship theatre still running strong after 90 continuous years in the biz. It’s a piece of our community history that lives! It lives long after my great-grandparents and grandparents attended it’s plays in the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s. It’s survived the Depression, it survived wars and here it is still today a cultural cornerstone of our community, ready to serve our generation and those to come. What a legacy!
Theatre Tulsa volunteers care so much for that legacy. We want to preserve and grow it! And so, we have been hard at work finalizing all the details that go into making a great theatre party! NO ONE throws a party like theatre folk do! Trust me, you don’t want to miss this one!
…Make it TOAST ’22.
This Friday, Nov. 30 at 7pm • The Atlas Grill and Tulsa Press Club • Atlas Building • 415 South Boston Avenue

We’ve all been there. Going to a show, watching the actors onstage, and thinking to ourselves – “Y’know, that looks like fun. I bet I could do that.”
From the vets to the noobs, this moment is something ALL actors have experienced. But before taking the stage or even memorizing a line, each had to learn how to act. Was it a wee-bit intimidating at first? You bet. But ask any actor today if they’re grateful they took that first step and they’ll give you a emphatic (and yes, dramatic) “Yes”.
If you dream of learning to act, or want to enhance your skills, here’s your chance – taught from two of the best theatre talents in the region.
Want to give an amazing gift you can’t get in any store? Give your friends and family some live theatre this year. Theatre Tulsa is now offering gift packages for our next three shows. The packages include combinations of show vouchers restaurant gift cards, and more. Check out the Holiday Gift Packages.
