This Holiday Season, We Need A Little Help From Our Friends.

We set some pretty lofty goals for ourselves this year. None higher than this – Put on a season worthy of our 90 year anniversary, and especially our fans and supporters.

Well, we can now say that we met every ambitious goal we set for our 90-day plan. Some, we even exceeded.

We’re pretty proud and you should be too. After all, it was your donations, your volunteer hours and your showing up and enjoying the shows that made this success possible. So before we continue, a big round of applause to you.

However, our mission to enrich the Tulsa community through the power of theatre continues. And we need your help to do it.

This holiday season, please consider donating to Theatre Tulsa. There’s a lot of worthy causes out there, so please, give what you can. It’s all needed and much, much appreciated.

Naturally, your donation is fully tax-deductible for 2012. And just so you know, your money will help support projects that go way beyond the stage –

• Theatre tulsa 90-Year Historical Exhibit. Running Jan. – Aug. 2013 at the Tulsa Historical Society, and featuring photos, programs, reviews and costumes from 1922 to today.

• Partnering with the Muscular Dystrophy Association for “Tuesdays with Morrie”.

• Broadway musical theatre class for Tulsa kids, taught by professionally-trained theatre artists.

• Partnering with the Arts and Humanities Council of Tulsa to present The New Drama League, “Poets to Playwrights” workshop for Tulsa youth.

• Theatre tulsa 90 Year Historical Exhibit. Running Jan. – Aug. 2013 at the Tulsa Historical Society, and featuring photos, programs, reviews and costumes from 1922 to today.

And more exciting projects than we can list here!

Thank you for whatever you can give. Please know your generosity is supporting a Tulsa icon and keeping our fair city’s creative culture thriving for generations to come.

Three Shows. Two of Tulsa’s finest. One weekend only!

“So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep…the way you get meaning in your life is to devote yourself to loving others.”

Deeply personal, yet universally true insights like this have made “Tuesdays With Morrie” one of America’s richest, most life-affirming tales – on the page and on the stage.

At it’s heart it is a simple story of a man and his mentor. But the discussions they share reveal the richest, most important lesson of all: The beauty and purpose of life.

So it is with great pride that Theatre Tulsa presents this remarkable show for a special one weekend engagement – January 11-13 – with two of Tulsa’s finest actors bringing it to life.

Freddie Tate plays Mitch, the writer searching for something greater than “success”. Tom Berenson plays Morrie, the former college professor dying from Lou Gehrig’s disease. And the Tuesday talks between these two dear friends tell a deeply moving story of courage, wisdom and the human spirit.

We invite you to experience this rare theatrical event – one that promises to enlighten as it entertains, and teach us all life’s most important lesson.

Many Thanks for Toast ’22 (with photos!)

Well we did it! The first Toast ’22 event was a success thanks to so many people and businesses. We couldn’t have done it without the help and support of everyone involved! It was so fantastic!

The highlights for me were watching the TT Broadway Bootcamp kids belting out some amazing tunes, getting to talk to all the TT supporters old and new, and the excitement in the air.

I especially loved the last bit of the evening when a group of about 15 of us 30-somethings (ahem – give or take) were hanging out in The Atlas Grill, drinking down the last of the keg (Thanks Marshall Brewing!) and chatting away about the future of the theatre and all the things we want to do. It was a fantastic way to end the evening!

I thought we’d have a little bit of a break before the holidays, but – oh no way! We are not slowing down, not a bit! Lots coming up in the next few weeks as we approach the opening of “Tuesday’s With Morrie,” the beginning of some new classes, auditions for Oliver! and the awesome premiere of The New Drama League.

Stay tuned and hang on, it’s about to get even more thrilling!

Here are some fun pics from the night. Also check out our full photo album from Toast ’22 on Facebook.
