We’re offering an exclusive, specials session of Broadway Bound for students planning for a future in college theatre or a conservatory. Broadway Bound leads dreamers and leaders in the exploration of the theatre business, the history of Broadway, college preparation, and the opportunity to create their own showcase. Under the guidance of Theatre Tulsa’s lead staff members, students will work on college preparatory essentials, academic and practical theatre basics, including school selection, resumes, essays, auditions and more. Additionally, participants are invited to attend occasional production meetings and rehearsals with the production teams for a true insider perspective of the business. Through exploration and performance, connect to Broadway of the past and present through this exclusive seminar focusing on the intricate and exciting history of The Great White Way. Students will learn the significance of the most influential shows, theatre, producers, directors, choreographers, and composers of the American musical and the culture of theatre as it pertains to their individual growth and to our community. The course culminates in a special, collaborative musical theatre showcase featuring the works of George M. Cohan to Lin-Manuel Miranda (and all the favorites in between) created, performed, and directed by the students.
Enrollment is by application only.
