"Clark Theatre Laughing Matter Improv"
February 16 & April 19, 2008

What do kids know about love? Enough to know that the whole thing is pretty funny. Clark Theatre will host its own Clark Laughing Matter Comedy Improv troupe for a special Valentine's themed show on Saturday, Feb. 16. Show starts at 7:30 pm.

Now in its third year, the troupe is led by Julie Tattershall and Frank Gallagher. Laughing Matter Improv shows are family friendly and intended for all ages. Tickets are $5.00.

The newest comedy improv troupe in town has a familiar name. Clark Theatre is proud to announce another performance of Clark's own Laughing Matter.

Clark Laughing Matter was formed in September of 05 from a group of teens who had been performing in plays together at Clark Youth Theatre for the last several years. Since then, a number of other teens have joined the group. "We wanted to give the kids time to get used to the rapid fire give and take of comedy improv," says Frank Gallagher, "Most of them are already experienced performers, they just needed some time with the new format."

The new troupe takes its name from the oldest Imrpov group in town. The original Laughing Matter was formed 18 years ago, and continues to perform regularly at Heller Theatre. The same people that run Heller now also run Clark. "It was a natural to begin a new Laughing Matter with these dedicated young actors," says Gallagher.

Clark Theatre is part of the Park and Recreation Department of the City of Tulsa.
