Theater artistic director lands top IABC award

Julie Tattershall, artistic director of the Heller and Clark Theatres, was named Communicator of the Year Thursday evening as part of the annual Bronze Quill Awards. The event, held at Studio 212 in the Brady District, was sponsored by the Tulsa chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators. Tattershall was honored for her quarter-century of dedication to creative communications and passing the gift of acting along to many. The John Hartman Award for the top communications professional of the year went to Kerry Walsh of Walsh Associates. Walsh was recognized for the award-winning graphic design expertise his firm provides to clients in several states, and for his creative contributions as a longtime member of IABC Tulsa. Leslee Stewart of ConocoPhillips received the President's Award for her work on the 2005-2006 monthly professional development programs. In all, 19 Bronze Quill awards were given in 15 categories for exceptional work completed during 2004 and 2005. Best of Show honors went to Ramon Cardiel, Jarrod Kopp and Ginger Middleton of FW Murphy for their entry in the color photography category. Awards of Excellence were presented to the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma corporate communications team for its Plan65 Medicare Supplement marketing communications campaign; Charlene Bassett for the four-color magazine Oneok Quarterly; Rick Ayre for Oneok Inc.'s Web site redesign; Oklahoma Magazine's Joe Bush for his design on a feature about Tulsa actress Jeanne Tripplehorn; and the FW Murphy team for the entry that also won Best of Show. Award of Merit winners included Ayre; Kopp, Dennis Graham, Chris Wunsch and Chris Schutte of FW Murphy; Megan Washbourne of Oneok; corporate communications, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma; Karen Wicker and Steve Turnbo of Schnake Turnbo Frank Inc.; Mel Scott, Jerry Hereden and Bonnie Medlicott-Benway of Syntroleum Corp.; Chris Owen and Jim Morgan of R.L. Hudson and Co.; Dena Wind and Lynn Zimmerman of GSS Communications, ConocoPhillips; Steve Higgins and Janet Huchteman, Williams Cos. Inc.; Denise Espinosa and the marketing communications group at TD Williamson; and Scott Pitcock of Oklahoma Magazine. |
