The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) isn’t exactly your typical Shakespeare in the Park. This hilarious romp through Shakespearean text is hosted by three actors who ambitiously attempt to do justice to each of Shakespeare’s 32 plays in the span of less than two hours. Shakespeare fans love the comical insights into the Bard’s greatest (and least) known works. Audience members who hated Shakespeare in school love the fast paced, fun filled, approach that keeps them laughing from beginning to end. Audiences of all backgrounds will enjoy this fun filled show, but, in true Shakespearian style, it does contain some adult "bawdry" humor. The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) was originally presented by its authors in Agoura, California in 1987. Since that time it has traveled to London’s West End, and has been produced Off-Broadway in New York. This off-the-wall combination of improvisation, topical humor and classic Shakespearian text has also thrilled Tulsa audiences in the past when presented under the capable direction of Theatre Tulsa veteran, Sally Adams. Five years after its Theatre Tulsa debut The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) returns to the PAC stage, once again under the direction of Sally Adams. Also returning are original Theatre Tulsa cast members T.J. Bowlin and Jared Kopp who welcome newcomer Nate Gavin. Don’t miss this exciting Summer Stage event. Call the Theatre Tulsa office at 587-8402 to find out about special group prices. Newsworthy Notes * After over 50 years of volunteering with Theatre Tulsa, historian, actor and director, Donovan Hamilton, is retiring from his service with the organization. He will be honored at the Campaign Reception which follows the Fundraiser Preview. * This Summer Stage production introduces Theatre Tulsa’s 83rd Season which honors the company’s history by presenting a series of plays that have previously been met with great enthusiasm by Theatre Tulsa (formerly known as Tulsa Little Theatre) audiences. |
