Replacing "The Pitmen Painters" which is postponed to a later date

Directed by Martha Cherbini
Cast include: Tom Berenson as Weller Martin and Karyn Maio as Fonsia Dorsey
|
This winner of the 1978 Pulitzer Prize, which originally starred Jessica Tandy and Hume Cronyn and later revived with Julie Harris and Charles Durning, uses a game as a metaphor for life. Weller Martin is playing solitaire on the porch of a seedy nursing home. Enter Fonsia Dorsey, a prim, self righteous lady. They discover they both dislike the home and enjoy gin rummy so they begin to play and to reveal intimate details of their lives. Fonsia wins every time and their secrets become weapons used against one another. Weller longs for a victory to counter a lifetime of defeats but it doesn't happen. He leaves the stage a broken man and Fonsia realizes her self-righteous rigidity has led to an embittered, lonely old age.
"A thoroughly entertaining lesson in the fine art of theatrical finesse. The closest thing the theatre offers to a duel at 10 paces."-The New York Times
"Extremely intelligent..fine bittersweet comedy...Funny, sad, profane, eloquent, touching, beautiful."-WABC-TV
"Perfect...A vibrant study on loneliness, disillusion, old age and death yet fiercely funny."-The Boston Globe

Hawthorne's classic exploration of sin, hypocrisy and society is vividly re-imagined in this sexually charged and psychologically complex tale of obsession and revenge. In 17th-century Puritan Boston, Hester Prynne has been branded and adulterous and sentenced to wear the scarlet letter "A" on her dress. But she turns the mark of her shame into a badge of beauty and refuses to name her lover, the father of her daughter, Pearl. When Hester's long-lost husband unexpectedly reappears, however, he will stop at nothing to uncover the truth. Narrated by the spirited Pearl, this stripped-bare stage version of the "greatest American novel" makes for a raw and exhilarating theatrical experience.
Cast include: Andy Axewell; Brigid Kimery Vance; Leanna Duncan; Freddie Tate; Premadonna Braddick; Xavier Sagel; and, Rick Luttrell

by James McLure, directed by Jim Queen
October 29th - November 6th, 2010 - Doenges Theatre, Tulsa PAC, 110 E. 2nd St., Tulsa, OK
On December 8, 1980, Mark David Chapman assassinated John Lennon outside the Dakota apartment building at the corner of 72nd Street and Central Park West in New York City.
This shocking news spread quickly, and thousands converged on Manhattan’s Upper West Side to grieve the loss of this peaceful visionary. Songs were sung, prayers were offered, and memories were shared as mourners struggled to grasp the tragic reality of a surreal situation.
Written by James McLure in 1984, The Day They Shot John Lennon follows a diverse group of New Yorkers gathered at Lennon’s impromptu memorial service and, in doing so, places a personal face on the worldwide outpouring of grief.
Touching and timeless, heartbreaking and hopeful, this one-act play is a powerful tribute to the life of an artist gone too soon.
Cast include: Tom Berenson as Morris; Freddie Tate as Larry; Samantha Woodruff as Fran; Robert Young as Brian; Curt Cox as Silvio; Brian Nelson as Gately; Carly Perry as Fran; Harly Turner as Kevin; Barrett Glosson as Michael |

One of the rowdiest farces ever staged, Pageant pits six beauty queens against each other in the Glamouresse annual extravaganza. These beauties will sing, dance, and camp it up in gowns and bathing suits. A hilarious contest that is equaled only by the zany "spokesomdel" event which requires them to hawk the sponsor's outrageous cosmetics. While the girls swirl around the charming host, judges from the audience will decide who will be crowned Miss Glamouresse.
Cast include: Patrick Hobbs as Frankie Cavalier; Brett Yeakey as Miss Bible Belt; Mike Pryor as Miss Deep South; Robert Young as Miss Industrial NE; Rusty Hockenbery as Miss West Coast; Joel Swanson as Miss Great Plains; and, Kris Farnsworth as Miss Texas and Tawny Jo |
