2000 - 2001 Season Speaking of Theatre Tulsa’s 79th season, the upcoming slate of productions is something for everyone including a musical, comedy and drama. All productions will be reserved seating held in the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. Matinees will be at 2:00pm on the first Sunday and no performances will occur on Monday through Wednesday unless otherwise noted. *
Our Town December 1 - 3 & 6 - 10, 2000. Doenges Theatre (*additional showings 6 & 10) - Ken Spence Directing. This Pulitzer Prizewinner about life in a New Hampshire town is an American classic and ideal for the holiday season. Theater Tulsa was the first community theatre to produce Our Town in 1939. note: Theatre Tulsa was the first community theatre company in America to do this play.!
Prisoner of Second Avenue March 16 - 18 & 22 - 24, 2001. John Williams Theatre - Vern Stefanic Directing. A Neil Simon classic comedy about coping in the rat race is one punch line after another!
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest May 4 - 6 & 10 - 12, 2001. John Williams Theatre - Ken Spence Directing. A Broadway and film triumph, garnishing multiple Tonys and Oscars, Cuckoo is a funny, touching and exciting story about a rogue who contrives to stay in a mental hospital rather than a prison stretch – and gets more than he bargains for!
