A story of the Tyrone family. James Tyrone, a famous aging stage actor, his wife a beautiful but sad woman named Mary. Their sons are a study in contrast: Jamie, wild- fond of wine, women and song and Edmund, who is physically frail but intellectually sharp, The family seems happy enough--but clearly there is something we do not know, something under the surface gives an unnatural quality to their interaction.
