Other have called her La Divina (The Divine) and Monstre Sacre (Sacred Monster). "Master Class" is a tour-de-force representation of the master classes Callas gave near the end of her career at the prestigious Julliard School. We see a Callas who is at the same time full of omniscience and self-doubt.
Based on the renowned opera singer of the 1950's, the hailed Diva Maria Callas, comes a story of a hilarious teacher of a "master class" in operatic singing. Hear her recollections and private musings about the glories of her career and life; the fierce hatred of her rivals culminating in a heart-breaking monologue about the sacrifices we all make in the name of art. (Awarded 1996 Tony Award for best play)
