Theatre Tulsa will celebrate its distinction as one of the nation’s longest-running theatres with a special concert celebrating the start of its 95th season.
The concert will feature nearly 100 Theatre Tulsa performers and musicians from the company’s past and present.
“This year marks Theatre Tulsa’s 95th year of creating the city’s most exciting local theatre through several decades and multiple generations of Tulsans,” said Sara Phoenix, Executive Artistic Director of Theatre Tulsa. “We plan to capture all the creativity and energy of our theatre company in one epic production.”
The concert, entitled “Local Landmark, National Treasure: An Epic Concert Celebrating 95 Years of Theatre Tulsa” will run for one weekend only June 23-25. The production will feature performances of Theatre Tulsa’s most iconic moments from its storied history.
The lineup will feature selections from such classic Theatre Tulsa productions as Carousel, The King and I, West Side Story, Man of La Mancha, Fiddler on the Roof and Oklahoma!, alongside more recent hit TT shows, such as Legally Blonde, Next to Normal and Les Miserables.
“This is a can’t-miss event not just for fans of Theatre Tulsa, but fans of classic American musical theatre,” Phoenix said.
Soloists for the concert include Mark Frie, Mike Pryor, Liz Hunt, Cody McCoy, Sam Briggs, Thomas Williams, Cathy Rose, Jill Lingle, Maddie Riggin, Alexandra Johnson, Lindsay Powell, Kelsey Kemper, Nash McQuarters, Noelle DeRoin, Ellen Kilgo, Pete Youtsey, Denise Hoey, Paulette Record, Kaylan Hughes, Kari Coffman, Cat Maddox and Christina Rardin. Youth performers Emma Petherick, Reese Buchert and Axyl Langford will also perform as featured soloists.
Performances will be June 23-24 at 8 p.m. and June 25 at 2 p.m. in the John H. Williams Theatre of the Tulsa PAC. Tickets are available at myticketoffice.com
