FALL 2019

Broadway Bound: Legally Blonde

Theatre Tulsa Academy prides itself in offering our older students challenging material to help them grow as the future leaders of our world. We have made a consistent effort to choose titles for our high school level programming that deal with pertinent societal issues, such as poverty, racial inequality, and gender politics. This fall, Broadway Bound performers will present the ful version of the Broadway musical, Legally Blonde.

Based on the hit-comedy of the same name, Legally Blonde is a story of female empowerment in a male-dominated world of Law. Legally Blonde is widely considered one of the best movie-to-musical adaptations to come to Broadway, because of it’s epically upbeat score and witty libretto.

Theatre Tulsa’s Broadway Bound program is an advanced course for ages 14-18. Broadway Bound focuses on implementing advanced performance skills and techniques into full-length musical productions. Over the course of this 10-week program, students rehearse twice per week perfecting their skills in a professional rehearsal atmosphere. This training opportunity will provide the knowledge needed to begin a vocational or academic career after they graduate high school. This fall’s program will be directed by Kia Hightower, with music direction by Thomas Williams, and choreography by Kara Staiger.
